Dallas City Lacrosse will be offering a 3rd/4th Grade program for Fall 2024. Fall is a supplemental season and is open to returning players who played Spring 2024 only. It runs for a total of 5 weeks and is designed to work around other fall sports. We will offer both fall and winter clinics for new players who wish to try lacrosse prior to registering for the spring season.
Practices: 3rd/4th trains Sundays from 2-3:15pm starting September 29th and running through October 20th in Woodrow Wilson HS.
Games: We will play in a local tournament on October 26-27th.
Dues: 3rd/4th dues for the 2024 Fall Season are $135 for 4 practices and a tournament (~3 games). Players must be registered for Spring 2025 season in order to play in the Fall.
Equipment: Mandatory equipment once practice begins includes a girl's stick, a mouthpiece and eye protection. Cleats are not required but strongly recommended. Please see our new player equipment recommendations HERE.
Format: 3rd/4th Grade will play 7v7 (including a goalie) with regulation 6'x6' goals and rubber balls on a reduced-sized field (60-70 yds x 35-45 yds), playing 18-minute running halves. We train as a group and divide up into multiple, evenly-balanced teams for tournament play.
Communication: TeamSideline is our main method of communication (this is the same application through which registration occurs). Once the season starts, this app allows you to see the team roster, team schedule and has a message feature for quick updates. Please be sure to download this app to your mobile device and to RSVP your player’s availability for each practice/game. It’s critical information that allows coaches to plan accordingly.
Registration: Fall programming is for returning players only.
Spring is the primary season for lacrosse and is open to both new and returning players. It runs for 11 weeks and is designed to be a player's main spring sport (but we are also understanding of conflicts at this age).
Practices: 3rd/4th Grade trains Saturdays from 9:30-10:45am and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30pm (5:45-7pm after Daylight Savings begins) starting February 15th and running through April 19th at North Dallas HS. Expect to see training that is structured, but fast-paced and fun. While we still emphasize fun and do station work to drill fundamentals (especially early on), training will evolve over the season to more traditional team-based training as we get into game play.
Games: While 3rd/4th is still an excellent time for girls to start lacrosse, this level also acts as a bridge from youth to middle school lacrosse. You will see more girls on the field and an introduction to offensive and defensive philosophies, as well as additional training and games. Our 3rd/4th teams will play games Sunday afternoons April at our DCL Play Days where we host games against other local programs in the Texas Girls Youth Lacrosse League (TGYLL), and end the season playing in a league-wide tournament on April 26-27th, 2025.
Dues: Dues for the Spring 2025 season are $395 for ~19 practices & ~6 games plus an end-of-season tournament (~3 games), and program uniform (reversible jersey, team shirt, game shorts and socks). Players who do not live in Dallas ISD or the Lake Highlands HS feeder zone will be charged an additional $200 fee. DCL reserves the right to limit out-of-district players to 10% of total roster size.
The largest driver in our dues is player uniforms and our paid coaching staff. Additional costs covered by dues: officiating fees, tournament dues, field space and team equipment (goals, balls, etc.). That being said, we are committed to growing the game and do not want finances to be the limiting factor. We offer sibling discounts, as well as a payment plan options at registration. Please reach out to us HERE if additional financial assistance is needed.
