Dallas City Lacrosse will be offering a 7th Grade team for Fall 2025. Fall is a supplemental season and is open to returning players who played Spring 2025 only. It runs for a total of 5 weeks and is designed to work around other fall sports. We will offer both fall and winter clinics for new players who wish to try lacrosse prior to registering for the spring season.
Practices: 7th Grade trains Sundays from 1:30-3pm starting September 28th and running through October 19th at Woodrow Wilson HS.
Games: We will play in a local tournament on October 25-26th.
Dues: 7th Grade dues for the Fall 2025 Season are $155 for 4 practices and a tournament (~4 games). Players must be registered for Spring 2026 Season in order to play in the Fall. We will use our uniforms from Spring 2025.
Equipment: Mandatory equipment once practice begins includes a girl's stick, a mouthpiece and eye protection and cleats. Please see our new player equipment recommendations HERE.
Format: 7th Grade will play regulation 12v12 (including a goalie) with regulation (6'x6') goals and rubber balls on a regulation-sized field (120 yds x 60 yds), playing 20-minute running halves.
Communication: TeamSideline is our main method of communication (this is the same application through which registration occurs). Once the season starts, this app allows you to see the team roster, team schedule and has a message feature for quick updates. Please be sure to download this app to your mobile device and to RSVP your player’s availability for each practice/game. It’s critical information that allows coaches to plan accordingly.
Spring is the primary season for lacrosse and is open to both new and returning players. It runs for ~11 weeks and is designed to be a player's main spring sport.
Practices: 7th Grade trains Saturdays from 9-10:30am, and Thursdays from 5:30-7pm (or until daylight runs out) starting February 15th and running through April 19th at Woodrow Wilson HS. After Daylight Savings begins, we reserve the right to shift practice time to 5:45-7:15pm. Expect to see training that is structured, but fast-paced and fun. While we still emphasize fun and fundamentals, training will follow a more traditional, team-based training pattern than in K-4th.
Games: While there is never a bad time to start lacrosse, middle school is when girls start to play "real" lacrosse. You will see more girls on the field, more complex offensive and defensive philosophies, and an introduction to stick checking, as well as additional training and games. Our 7th Grade team will play games starting after Dallas ISD Spring Break against other local programs in the Texas Girls Youth Lacrosse League (TGYLL), and end the season playing in a league-wide tournament on April 25-26th, 2026.
Dues: Dues for the Spring 2026 season are $595 for ~19 practices & ~6 games plus an end-of-season tournament (~3 games). Player uniform (reversible jersey, game shorts or skirt, and game socks) purchased seperately. Players who do not live in Dallas ISD or the Lake Highlands HS feeder zone will be charged an additional $200 fee. DCL reserves the right to limit out-of-district players to 10% of total roster size.
The largest driver in our dues are field space and our paid coaching staff. Additional costs covered by dues: officiating fees, tournament dues, operating equipment (goals, balls, etc.). That being said, we are committed to growing the game and do not want finances to be the limiting factor. We offer sibling discounts, as well as a payment plan options at registration. Please reach out to us HERE if additional financial assistance is needed.
